This one is all about your save data, and it starts with good news. After digging into the "my character disappeared" reports, it turns out the characters were never actually deleted. What really happened was the game failing to read your data after a crash or a connection hiccup, and showing you fresh characters instead. That's why they always came back later: the data was sitting safely in the cloud the whole time, the game just wasn't looking in the right place.
